Scope and Objectives

The Kaizen Company is seeking a Finance and Administrative Assistant for an anticipated five-year Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Activity (MELA) in Jordan, funded by USAID. This will be a full-time, position based in Amman, Jordan. MELA will provide a range of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) services relevant to USAID/Jordan’s portfolio of programs which focuses on: economic growth, capacity building, democracy and governance, public service delivery, and gender equality and female empowerment. MELA will contribute to 1) ensuring that USAID’s development programs in Jordan achieve their intended results through an efficient and effective mechanism; and 2) building the institutional capacity of local monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) firms to assume increasing management responsibility of MEL awards.

The Finance and Administrative Assistant will support the Finance and Operations Manager in the financial, operational and procurement aspects of the project to ensure it meets all USAID and U.S. government requirements in funds accountability.


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in finance, administrative, and operational management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of USAID project cycle, agency policies, regulations and reporting requirements for financial management
  • Proficiency in writing and editing
  • Fluency in English and Arabic
  • Eligibility to work in Jordan


  • Coordinate financial planning and support the Finance and Operations Manager in providing regular, monthly financial analysis of project spending
  • Responsible for day-to-day financial management and bookkeeping, accounts payable, payroll, vacation tracking, petty cash, cash flow requests, tax filings, and audit support
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation
  • Prepare monthly field office expense reports
  • Schedule regular and ad hoc meetings, including reserving conference rooms or other appropriate facilities, preparing agendas, notifying participants, setting up equipment and assembling background and informational materials
  • Coordinate and schedule updates for project stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with USAID, U.S. government, and Kaizen accounting and finance systems
