Knowledge Management and Learning Specialist

The Kaizen Company (Kaizen) is seeking a part-time consultant to serve as Knowledge Management and Learning Specialist. This is a 6-12 month assignment based at USAID’s Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, DC supporting an active task order in the Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance. The position requires a self-starter with a high level of flexibility, creativity, and commitment to excellence. Candidates should possess solid technical experience in knowledge management, excellent oral and written communication skills, and an interest in working in a challenging environment.

Illustrative responsibilities and qualifications for the position are listed below:


  • Manage knowledge management processes and practices for an active USAID office
  • Support the management of internal and external websites
  • Manage processes for disseminating knowledge
  • Develop and manage knowledge sharing and learning events
  • Develop knowledge sharing and learning publications



  • Master’s degree or higher
  • 6+ years of professional experience in international development, international affairs, political science, or international peacebuilding
  • 2+ years of professional experience in knowledge management and learning, social media tools, and creating visual and graphic content
  • Interest and experience in conflict and peacebuilding
  • Experience working with evaluations and indicators
  • Familiarity with USAID Collaborating, Learning and Adapting (CLA) methodologies
  • High-quality written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced office environment with tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well directly interfacing with clients and in a team environment
  • Supervisory experience a plus
  • Ability to balance and prioritize diverse tasks with limited oversight
  • Qualified to achieve and maintain clearances as required for client projects
