The Kaizen Company is seeking applications for the full-time position of Education Data Analyst for the five-year USAID-funded Pre-Service Teacher Education in Jordan (PRESTIJ).

About PRESTIJ

The PRESTIJ project seeks to increase the preparedness of future Grade 4-10 teachers by improving the system of pre-service teacher education. The project will expand and improve the pre-service teacher education programming offered by Jordanian universities, centered primarily around the implementation of the adapted Queen Rania Teacher Academy (QRTA) pre-service teacher education modules. By supporting a total of four geographically diverse universities and relevant Government of Jordan (GoJ) entities to implement the high-quality QRTA model or an alternative model, and by providing responsive technical assistance to the GoJ to advance essential pre-service teacher education reforms more broadly, the five-year PRESTIJ contract will achieve its mission to increase the number of quality teachers in Jordan.

Responsibilities

The Education Data Analyst will be responsible for the collection and analysis of data from a variety of sources including the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Higher Education, universities across Jordan, and other relevant entities.

  • Support the collection and harmonization of data from various information sources;
  • Develop analytical methods to best assess progress against results;
  • Perform data analysis as appropriate to the dataset;
  • Document methodologies and procedures used in the compilation and analysis of data as well as sources and limitations of estimates and guidelines for their use;
  • Ensure the quality of information being collected, including considerations related to relevant data disaggregation needs;
  • Prepare relevant, effective data visualizations to facilitate public presentation of data findings;
  • Communicate analysis to a variety of stakeholders;
  • Comply with all applicable USAID and contractors’ rules and regulations;
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

Work location: Amman, Jordan with potential for travel within Jordan

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum) and 8 years of relevant work experience or Master's and 6 years;
  • Demonstrated ability to collect and analyze large sets of data to inform policy;
  • Experience engaging with and building networks with Jordanian government entities;
  • History of working with USAID or other international donors;
  • Knowledge of statistical software such as ArcGIS, SAS, Python, Stata, and R;
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to interface with stakeholders;
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present visualizations of data collected;
  • Proficiency in USAID regulations and rules;
  • Fluency in Arabic with strong English skills.
