Scope and Objectives

In cooperation with Save the Children, the Kaizen Company is supporting the Implementer-led Design, Evidence, And Learning (IDEAL) activity, a USAID initiative that will increase the capacity of Food for Peace (FFP) implementing partners worldwide to design and implement effective emergency and development food security activities.  IDEAL will support FFP’s capacity strengthening efforts by developing and sharing food security best practices, while introducing new organizational strengthening, knowledge management, and learning tools.

Kaizen is currently seeking an Organizational Development Manager to support IDEAL, specifically by utilizing Kaizen’s proprietary Organizational Self-Assessment and Transformation Program (OSTP) to assist FFP implementing partners to gather, analyze, and communicate data regarding performance. S/he will train and support implementing partners in activity planning in order to implement solutions identified during the self-assessment phase.

The Organizational Development Manager will be based in Washington, DC, and will provide primarily virtual and remote support to FFP and implementing partners, with travel to facilitate capacity strengthening activities undertaken by organizations.


The Organizational Development Manager will support organizational development efforts, including, but not limited to the following:

  • Developing, executing and overseeing the delivery of organizational change management support processes for FFP implementers worldwide;
  • Working with senior team members to design and facilitate participatory processes for the development and management of strategic organizational development initiatives and plans;
  • Creating and facilitating participatory processes in which teams assess, develop and/or learn about new and/or improved programmatic and operational approaches and processes;
  • Improving organizational performance by providing or arranging for individual and group coaching
  • Gauging readiness for organizational changes and gaps and performance by conducting surveys, analyses, direct stakeholder engagement, and other learning exercises;
  • Preparing staff to make informed strategic choices by sharing knowledge and understanding of cutting-edge organizational development research.
  • Supporting all aspects of a global FFP Community of Practice




  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Organizational Behavior, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Change Management, or a related field, with consulting and HR functional experience preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a specialist delivering services in organizational development, adult learning or related fields
  • Experience living and working in developing country environments
  • Experience conducting organizational assessments and leading organizational change initiatives
  • Experience working on USAID projects in the field
  • Satisfactory past performance in organizational development, adult education, coaching and/or staff counseling successes
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English language


  • Experience in fields of food security or agriculture
  • Demonstrated skills in building, mobilizing, and working in multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
