Scope and Objectives

The Kaizen Company is recruiting a Communications Officer for an anticipated five year USAID-funded Development Food Security Activity in Niger. The goal is to improve food and nutrition security and resilience among extremely poor and chronically vulnerable households and communities in a sustainable manner. 

The proposed program will be a highly integrated, multi-sectoral food security intervention.  The Communications Officer will work with the Strategic Coordination and Learning Advisor to capture lessons learned and develop knowledge products, including one-pagers, infographics, tools, and templates to disseminate information and integrate knowledge into new tools and processes for project operations. The  Communications Officer will also support the development of project reports and other deliverables.  

Responsibilities

  • Produce reports, one-pagers, infographics, and contribute to project deliverables
  • Synthesize information from interviews and discussions with stakeholders into digestible formats to facilitate knowledge sharing and lessons learned. 
  • Develop a monthly e-newsletter
  • Serve as the voice of the project, developing public-facing materials to share the project's successes

Qualifications

  • At least three years of experience in the field of communications
  • Previous experience working with USAID or other international donors is a plus
  • Experience with GIS is strongly preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in English and French
  • This position will be based in Niamey but may involve substantial travel to Maradi
  • This position requires citizenship in Niger
