The Kaizen Company is seeking an Intergovernmental Authority for Development (IGAD) Team Lead for the five-year Regional Intergovernmental Organization (RIGO) System Strengthening Activity project based in Djibouti.

Position Summary         

The IGAD Team Lead will serve as the primary liaison to IGAD and be based in Djibouti, Djibouti, where IGAD is headquartered.  

Expected responsibilities include:

  • Manage the day-to-day relationship with IGAD and lead Kaizen’s activities with the IGAD working group. 
  • Assist IGAD in identifying and establishing the working group, integrating it into any existing institutional strengthening activities.
  • Manage relationships within IGAD to sustain buy-in for the strengthening activities. 
  • Facilitate the working group through all institutional strengthening activities, including reviewing existing assessments, implementing any additional assessments as necessary, developing and implementing performance solutions, and evaluating results of working group activities. 
  • Serve as a resource, providing technical expertise across all RIGO partners and supporting the IGAD working group to successfully implement solutions which contribute to RIGO project objectives.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or higher in relevant technical or management field  
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in organizational development, including conducting assessments
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Sub-Saharan Africa; East African experience preferred
  • Experience working with IGAD preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in relevant management areas (e.g., financial management, performance management (M&E), strategic planning, donor coordination, human resources, ICT and project management)
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in areas relevant to the RIGO
  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior high-level country counterparts, donor representatives, and senior-level staff
  • Strong facilitation, communication, presentation, and training skills
